Chris Long discusses life after football with BGN

BGN Radio Special!

NFL: JAN 21 NFC Championship Game - Vikings at Eagles

Being part of Bleeding Green Nation has it’s perks. One of those is you get to work with a great group of people that become family over time, and the other is you get access to incredibly fascinating characters that helped shape Philadelphia Eagles’ history.

Today I was joined by one of those characters, as former Eagle defensive end Chris Long joined me for a BGN Radio Special to talk about life after football and his partnership with the Crown Royal Water Break.

When asked about a possible return to the Eagles (you know I had to ask) and football in general, Long has this to say...

“I’m not, like, ever closing the door on football… Listen, I could be 38 and if I feel good like I could go kick somebodies ass and somebody called, it was the right situation, I’d consider it… Like I said, last offseason I was all in to do a couple more, I was playing well enough to do a couple more and I feel good physically but the situation just wasn’t agreeable in the one place I wanted to play. Rather than going to play somewhere else, I just said ‘you know what, I always wanted to retire earlier than late’…

There was one place I really wanted to play, like I said, and that was Philly, and you know there were some other ideas, so it just kind of is what it is.”

Other topics discussed with Long include:

  • What he’s got going on in the media world
  • His partnership with the Crown Royal Water Break (stay hydrated!)
  • Thoughts on the development of Derek Barnett & Josh Sweat
  • Malcolm Jenkins’ voice in the locker room
  • His favorite pass rush move that he could never hit
  • What he’d do with his clone (he might be in trouble)
