Eagles vs. Vikings snap counts: Andre Dillard struggles while filling in for Jason Peters

Playing time tracker.

NFL: Preseason-Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Here’s a breakdown of the snap counts from the Philadelphia Eagles’ 38 to 20 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6 of the 2019 NFL season.

OFFENSE

Nelson Agholor has played 173 offensive snaps over the past three games. His production during that span: five receptions for 62 yards and one fumble. So, 1.7 receptions for 20.7 yards per game. Wow, $9.4 million well spent!

Andre Dillard came in the game for Jason Peters, who has been dealing with a knee injury. The Eagles’ first-round draft pick struggled against Everson Griffen.

The Eagles once again went with a lot of 12 personnel. Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert combined for nine receptions for 102 yards. Ertz also had a big fumble that killed any Eagles late game comeback attempt.

After splitting snaps AND offensive touches evenly last week, the running back rotation changed in this game; Jordan Howard saw a lot more playing than Miles Sanders. Howard had 13 carries to Sanders’ three. Of course, Sanders made the bigger impact in the game with three receptions for 86 yards and one receiving touchdown.

Mack Hollins played 39 offensive snaps and had zero receptions. JJ Arcega-Whiteside has played 146 offensive snaps this season. He has two receptions for 14 yards. The Eagles sure aren’t getting much out of their receivers not named Alshon Jeffery.

Boston Scott took his first NFL offensive touches in garbage time. He ran four times for 30 yards. Secret weapon?!

Josh McCown came in for Carson Wentz when the game was obviously out of reach at the end.

DEFENSE

Malcolm Jenkins still hasn’t missed a single defensive snap this season.

Nathan Gerry saw a big increase in playing time with Nigel Bradham leaving the game due to an ankle injury. The Eagles coaching staff clearly trusts Gerry to call the defense from the middle linebacker position with Bradham out.

Zach Clown played a lot of snaps on a defense that got shredded by the quarterback he trash talked prior to the game. Great job.

Derek Barnett played the most snaps of any Eagles defensive end and had ... one tackle and one tackle for loss. That’s it. Not enough.

Sidney Jones was replaced by Craig James at one point. Jones wasn’t getting looked at by trainers so it’s not like he suffered a new injury. So, either he got benched or he felt like couldn’t play. Either way, not good. Looking like a bust.

Hassan Ridgeway was one of the few players who came to play on Sunday. He logged two solo tackles and two tackles for loss. Good on him.

Andrew Sendejo’s role has decreased since the Packers game.

Daeshon Hall logged a quarterback hit in just three defensive snaps played. So glad to see him wasting away on the bench while the Eagles fail to generate pressure.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Rudy Ford had a dumb holding penalty on the Eagles’ first kickoff return that knocked the Eagles back to their own 7-yard line.
