The defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles looked cooked several times this season. It took them until Week 13 to string two wins together. It wasn’t until Week 16 that they clawed their way over .500% after starting 2-1. They scored over 30 points until twice the entire season. They blew big leads, lost a six-pack of one-score games, and got swept by Dallas Cowboys.
Along the way there were several scapegoats. Doug Pederson, Mike Groh, and Jim Schwartz all came under fire. Yet, despite all that turmoil, the Eagles’ coaches and players found a way to hit the switch and sneak in the playoffs mere weeks after being declared dead.
One analyst who was particularly critical of Pederson was Evan Silva of Rotoworld. We spoke with him on The Kist & Solak Show #67. We walked through the season from the troubled waters to the clearing sky in an effort to understand and explain what happened throughout the course of the season.
Once we addressed the elephant in the room, we talked about the Eagles’ upcoming matchup with the New Orleans Saints and the rest of the Divisional Round games. We also gave some free fantasy advice so you can win some bread in daily fantasy.
