By now you know that Cody Parkey’s double doink was actually thanks to a phenomenal play by Treyvon Hester who actually tipped the kick. But that doesn’t really matter, because either way, Eagles fans wanted to send their appreciation to the former kicker for sending them to the next round of the playoffs.
Parkey may have received instant backlash from the Bears community, but from the looks of things, he’ll be drinking on Philly’s dime for awhile, with fans flocking to send the kicker beer money on Venmo.
My brother sent Cody Parkey a payment on Venmo to thank him for missing the field goal. #Eagles pic.twitter.com/yYiscY1aTI

This is very much akin to fans donating to the Minnesota Vikings Foundation after last year’s playoff win — partially to atone for the poor behavior of a few rowdy fans (although it was absolutely a two-way street).
But, I digress. Donations to Parkey ranged from $2 — one for each goalpost hit — to the cost of a stadium beer.
Feel for Cody Parkey, but the fact that Eagles fans are blowing up his Venmo or someone blessed with the same name is absolutely wild pic.twitter.com/jn3EQZd3Kl

If you’re thinking of joining the movement, be warned that the onslaught of donations triggered many users to change their Venmo account name to capitalize on the good will of Philly fans.
Random Eagles fans all started Venmo’ing Cody Parkey money for the missed FG so a ton of people created fake Cody Parkey Venmo accounts trying to get paid by random Eagles fans. pic.twitter.com/ohTvRZsYtd

And while Parkey isn’t soon to forget those final moments of the wildcard game, Eagles fans can remember it too with this commemorative t-shirt [CLICK HERE]!
