Throw all the matchups and “football reasons” out the window for a moment. Doesn’t it just feel like the Eagles are going to win this game?

Doesn’t it feel like people are making the same mistakes as last year when it comes to counting this team out?

The sense I’ve gotten from Bears fans this week is that they believe Chicago has no chance of losing this game. I truly think they’re in for a rude awakening.

This isn’t even about the Bears being frauds or something, because they’re not. It’s just not about them at all. Just like it was last year, it’s about the Eagles being a legitimately good team right now.

It’s not like Philadelphia’s recent success has been based on fluke factors. They’re playing good, fundamental football. Top notch coaching from Doug Pederson and his staff. Great quarterback play from Nick Foles. The offensive and defensive lines controlling the game up front. Really, the Eagles have been getting great effort out of the entire team. Who can you point to that’s under-performing right now?

It just feels like this Eagles team has something special going on.

And so the reigning Super Bowl champions will march into Soldier Field on Sunday evening and show they mean business. BDN will be flinging the ball around. Alshon Jeffery is going to have some huge catches against his former team. The defensive line is going to rattle Mitchell Trubisky and force him into turnovers. Special teams is going to make a big play. I foresee it all happening.

Heading into the Super Bowl last year, I just had a feeling the Eagles were going to win. It felt different than wishful thinking or overconfidence. It was much more calm than that. It was as if I had already seen the future and knew the outcome.

Of course, this is all just a feeling. And maybe it’s wrong. But I don’t think it is. I really feel like the Eagles are going to win this game.
