Super Bowl LIII will feature Rams vs. Patriots

Super Bowl LIII is set after a crazy day of football. The Los Angeles Rams will face the New England Patriots in the NFL’s annual championship game.

The Rams are very fortunate to be here. Los Angeles likely would’ve lost to the Saints if the officials didn’t miss a blatantly obvious pass interference penalty near the end of the NFC Championship Game. Sean McVay was bailed out of an incredibly weak decision to kick a field goal from the Saints’ 1-yard line to tie the game in the fourth quarter.

The Rams haven’t been to the Super Bowl since the 2001 NFL playoffs ... back when they were based in St. Louis. The Rams lost Super Bowl XXXVI to the team they’re playing this year.

The Patriots, meanwhile, are making their first Super Bowl appearance since last year, when they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles. Good times. It’s just unfortunate that Andy Reid’s Chiefs didn’t make it instead.
