The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly expected to hire John DeFilippo as their new offensive coordinator, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

Flip has been a free agent ever since the Vikings fired him after a Week 14 loss to the Seahawks. Minnesota originally hired him as their offensive coordinator shortly following the EaglesSuper Bowl victory.

As BGN poll results indicate, Eagles fans will be bummed to see that Philly’s former quarterbacks coach won’t be returning to Doug Pederson’s coaching staff in some capacity.

Someone who might not be so bummed Flip headed to Jacksonville is Nick Foles. Flip obviously worked closely with BDN when Foles went on his Super Bowl MVP run. Now Foles potentially has an opportunity to work with him again, depending on what happens with his contract status this offseason.

Whether it’s by trade or via free agent signing, the Jaguars have been discussed as one of the most likely landing spots for Foles. Here’s what we wrote about the possibility on Tuesday:

Foles makes sense for the Jags. They’re in desperate need of a new quarterback since Blake Bortles, who got benched for Cody Kessler in 2018, clearly isn’t the answer. Jacksonville owns the No. 7 pick in the NFL Draft so they could potentially draft a passer. But it wouldn’t necessarily be the worst idea to draft a prospect AND sign a proven player like Foles.

Eagles fans seem to believe Foles to the Jags is the most likely outcome this offseason.

Certainly something to keep an eye on.
