Reacting to the Eagles’ loss to the Saints

The Kist & Solak Show #70

NFL: NFC Divisional Playoff-Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

It was a heart-breaking loss that ended under weird and anticlimactic conditions. The defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will defend their crown no longer after their 20-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints. What happened and where do we go from here? That’s what we try to figure out on The Kist & Solak Show #70.

One call that’s been hotly debated is the decision to run a play before the two minute warning at the end of the game. This play resulted in an interception that bounced off Alshon Jeffery’s hands and into Marshon Lattimore’s hands. We tackle that talking point, but my thoughts on the matter are worth stating here.

(warning: NSFW language? Is the “d” word a curse in this context?)

The idea that the Eagles should be running clock at the 27-yard line with 2nd & 10 is also going to be thrown around. We address that and the rest of the factors that impacted the game. We break down Nick Foles’ fast start and shaky stretch, the issues in the secondary, the pile of injuries and how that played a role, and much much more.

Reminder: we’ll have plenty of content for you in the off-season. I’ll be at the East-West Shrine Game practices and also I’ll be meeting up with Benjamin Solak during Senior Bowl week. The shows will continue to roll with solid frequency.

For now, you can listen to The Kist & Solak Show #70 on the media player before or you can click here if the player doesn’t load. FLY EAGLES FLY!
