Weather report for Eagles-Falcons 2018 season opener

Man, it’s a hot one.

NFL: Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles open their 2018 regular season on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons, and while kickoff isn’t slated until 8:20 p.m. ET, pregame festivities start much earlier — and will be very hot.

Peak temps will hit about 93* between 2-4 p.m., but with over 50% humidity, it will feel like over-100* for most of the afternoon. During the game, temps will be closer to the mid-80s, but it won’t feel like it’s cooling off until closer to the second half. There’s also a slight chance of some pop-up storms later in the game.

Temperatures are going to be so high up until the early hours of the evening, that the city is in a heat advisory until 7 p.m. ET, and in an air quality alert until midnight.

So stay hydrated and bring the sunscreen, because it’ll take more than a hot day to keep Eagles fans from celebrating their reigning Super Bowl Champs during the home opener.
