For the second year in a row, the Philadelphia Eagles designated five team captains for the upcoming season. These players will get to wear the “C” logo on their jerseys, as seen in the picture above this article.
The five Eagles captains for 2018 include:
Carson Wentz - Starting quarterback
Jason Kelce - Starting center
Malcolm Jenkins - Starting safety
Fletcher Cox - Starting defensive tackle
Kamu Grugier-Hill - Special teams ace

Wentz and Jenkins were also captains last year, which is why they have two stars under the C and everyone else has one.
Kelce replaces Jason Peters as this year’s second offensive team captain.
Cox replaces Brandon Graham as this year’s second defensive team captain.
Grugier-Hill, who might see some defensive playing time at weakside linebacker, replaces Chris Maragos as this year’s special teams captain.
For those wondering, the captains are picked by the players.
In 2017, the Eagles had a sixth team captain that rotated on a weekly basis. Those players didn’t get to wear the “C” logo on their jersey; it was more of an honorary thing. I imagine the Eagles might be doing that again this year. Here’s a look at all the captains from last year, which I tracked because I’m a nerd:
Week 1 at Redskins - Rodney McLeod - Maryland native
Week 2 at Chiefs - Darren Sproles - Kansas native
Week 3 vs. Giants - Fletcher Cox
Week 4 at Chargers - Zach Ertz - California native
Week 5 vs. Cardinals - Chris Long
Week 6 at Panthers - Alshon Jeffery - South Carolina native
Week 7 vs. Redskins - Brent Celek
Week 8 vs. 49ers - Vinny Curry
Week 9 vs. Broncos - Jalen Mills
Week 10 (Bye week)
Week 11 at Cowboys - Lane Johnson - Texas native
Week 12 vs. Bears - Nigel Bradham
Week 13 at Seahawks - Jason Kelce
