Sometimes you just have a feeling.
Before a number of Eagles games last year, including the team’s Super Bowl win, I just had a feeling they were going to win on that given day. This belief would lead me to tweet out “Eagles gonna get that W” in the early Sunday AM hours. And I’ll have you know the Eagles never lost when I did that.
Well, folks, I’m getting that feeling again today. And it’s not like I’ve had it for every game this year. I didn’t feel as confident heading into the Eagles’ Week 2 game against the Buccaneers. I had some uneasiness about that one.
Not today, though. I predict the Eagles are going to beat the Titans.
Carson Wentz is going to look less rusty than he did last week. The Eagles’ offense will be better with Alshon Jeffery and Jay Ajayi back.
I expect the Eagles’ defense to hold up well against a Titans team that likes to run the ball way too much for their own good. Running against the Eagles is like a gift to Jim Schwartz. Philadelphia’s run defense ranks second in the league by DVOA. Even with missing Rodney McLeod, the Eagles’ pass defense should hold up Marcus Mariota, who doesn’t even have complete feeling in his fingers.
I’m not saying the Eagles are going to blow out the Titans. There’s a reason why Tennessee is 2-1 with their only loss coming to a 3-0 Dolphins team. I think the Titans will make it respectable.
But I just think the reigning Super Bowl champions are the better team here. I trust them in this spot on the road.
Don’t let me down, Eagles.
