Eagles vs. Titans Final Injury Report: Updates on Jay Ajayi, Alshon Jeffery, Corey Clement

Final injury update.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles released their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 4 home game against the Tennessee Titans.

Jay Ajayi is not listed on the injury report at all so that means he’s a lock to play. We’ll see how effective Ajayi can be as he plays with a fractured back but assuming he’s not majorly hampered he should help the offense.

The Eagles ruled two players OUT for Sunday’s game: starting safety Rodney McLeod and running back Darren Sproles.

Doug Pederson confirmed McLeod had surgery on a torn MCL but he wouldn’t say McLeod is out for the season just yet. Regardless, he’ll be out for this week’s game, which means Corey Graham will see an increased role in his absence. It’ll be interesting to see what the Eagles do to fill Graham’s previous role. Maybe it’s Deiondre’ Hall who steps up? Maybe the Eagles use a corner at safety? We’ll have to wait and see on game day.

Pederson said Sproles is “getting close” to returning despite the fact the 35-year-old veteran did not practice this week.

The Eagles ruled three players QUESTIONABLE for Sunday’s game: starting wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, running back Corey Clement, and linebacker Nathan Gerry.

Jeffery was a full participant in practice on Wednesday before missing practice on both Thursday and Friday. Jeffery’s absence is related to the illness that’s going around the team. It seems like Jeffery will return this weekend, but the fact he’s missed some practice time doesn’t help his case. If Jeffery does play, it’ll be great to have him back. The Eagles have been depleted at receiver so his figures to give a boost to the offense.

Clement was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. He first appeared on the injury report was a quad issue last week. Maybe the Eagles are just taking it easy on him so that he’ll be ready for Sunday, just like they did last week.

Gerry was limited in practice on Friday after being full go on Wednesday and Thursday. Again, perhaps the Eagles are just being cautious with him. He appeared on the injury report at one point last week but ended up being fine enough to play.

Jordan Matthews was a full participant in Friday’s practice after being limited on Thursday. He’s not even listed on the final injury report so that’s a good sign for him.

TENNESSEE TITANS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)

After dealing with some injury issues earlier this season, the Titans are finally getting healthy heading into this week’s game.

The only two Titans players who have been ruled out are third string running back David Fluellen and swing tackle Dennis Kelly. Weird that it’d be two former Eagles who miss this game.

Titans backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert is questionable. If he can’t play, Austin Davis will be Marcus Mariota’s backup.
