Who will start at quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night: Nick Foles or Carson Wentz?
We already know that NFL Network reported it’ll be Foles under center. But the Eagles have yet to confirm that report.
Instead, Doug Pederson lashed out at the local media on Sunday morning for “putting words in his mouth” regarding who will be starting. He then refused to give any clarity on whether it’ll be Foles or Wentz starting.
After Sunday’s practice was over, media members tried to ask Eagles players in the locker room about the starting quarterback situation. But even one of the team’s most talkative guys, Lane Johnson, wouldn’t reveal the answer.
#Eagles’ Lane Johnson says they were told not to reveal the QB: “That’s the whole cat-and-mouse game. Who’s gonna let loose? It’s usually me because most times I don’t give a damn. I’m starting to give a damn now.”

What’s the penalty for chirping? “You may get a damn spanking.”
Well, it looks like Jordan Hicks may be the one getting a spanking, because the Eagles’ middle linebacker seemingly spilled the beans on Sunday.

“Nick looks confident. And, yeah, yeah, you’ve noticed it, I’ve noticed it, over the past few days. Man, Nick has proven himself over and over again. And I have no doubt in my mind that Nick is going to prove himself out there again on Thursday.”
Unless this is all some sort of very elaborate ruse to trick the Falcons, well, it’s looking like it’s going to be the reigning Super Bowl MVP starting against Atlanta.
