Eagles bring back rookie linebacker to their practice squad

Season saved.

NCAA Football: Toledo at Western Michigan Patrick Gorski-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Eagles signed rookie linebacker Asantay Brown back to their practice squad, according to an official announcement from the team on Wednesday afternoon.

Brown originally signed with the Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft. He didn’t stand out much during the offseason, and he actually missed most of the summer with some kind of injury, but he did manage to play in the preseason finale.

The Eagles waived Brown during final roster cuts but they did sign him back to their original 10-man practice squad. Brown then got released from the practice squad in order to make room for Joe Walker.

Now Walker is gone after signing with the Arizona Cardinals’ 53-man roster on Tuesday. His absence left a vacant spot for Brown to return.

The Eagles currently have one more practice squad vacancy since Josh Adams was promoted to the active roster yesterday. It shouldn’t be too long before Philadelphia fills that spot.

WR Reggie Davis
