The Philadelphia Eagles have officially announced the inactives list for their Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The following players will NOT play: Carson Wentz, Alshon Jeffery, Darren Sproles, Chance Warmack, Matt Pryor, Jordan Mailata, and Josh Sweat.
It is worth noting that Shelton Gibson, who was ruled questionable on Friday, is not on that list. He will be active despite the fact he missed Thursday’s practice with a quad injury. Gibson only played four offensive snaps against Atlanta but it’s good to have him active since the Eagles would’ve been down to just Nelson Agholor, Mike Wallace, DeAndre Carter, and Kamar Aiken at wide receiver if he wasn’t going to play.
Wentz, Jeffery, and Sproles were all ruled out on Friday. There’s optimism Wentz will be able to play in Week 3. In the meantime, reigning Super Bowl MVP quarterback Nick Foles will start in his place. Jeffery’s return appears to be on the horizon considering he returned to practice leading up to this week’s game. Sproles should have a chance to return next week as well. Expect Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood to see more playing time with Sproles out. Derrick Gunn reports Clement will handle punt duty in place of Sproles.
Warmack, Pryor, Mailata, and Sweat were all healthy scratches in Week 1. That’ll be the case for these depth offensive linemen in Week 2 as well.
