The Tampa Bay Buccaneers dropped 48 points on the New Orleans Saints. This is true. The Buccaneers defense also allowed 40 points. This is also true. In the newest edition of The Kist & Solak Show, we broke down the match-ups the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will see and how to exploit them.
One area that stands out immediately is the Buccaneers depleted secondary. Vernon Hargreaves has been placed on injured reserve and veteran Brent Grimes is still dealing with a groin injury. Rookies Carlton Davis, MJ Stewart and third-year man Ryan Smith will be pressed into action and showed a big-time vulnerability against the Saints.
One issue with a young backfield that hasn’t played with each other much is communication and blown assignments.
TB CB Ryan Smith is obviously expecting banjo with $ Justin Evans. If so Evans should end up inside with the 2 (Thomas) instead of chasing the 1 (Ginn). pic.twitter.com/bFqRjcNxtz

The other area of concern was the lack of a pass rush for the Buccaneers, especially in the fourth quarter where they went complete radio silence. This issue is only exacerbated by Jason Pierre-Paul’s knee injury, which could lead to him missing Week 2.
While linebacker Lavonte David and defensive tackle Gerold McCoy turned in solid performances, Ben and I struggled to find another standout on the defense.
