The Philadelphia Eagles are back tonight for the third game of their 2018 NFL preseason schedule. The Eagles are set to face the Cleveland Browns, a team that is 1-31 since passing on Carson Wentz.
Unfortunately (for the sake of being petty), Wentz will not play tonight. Instead, it’ll be Nick Foles who gets the start under center. The reigning Super Bowl MVP will be looking to bounce back after a real rough outing against the Patriots last Thursday. Foles should get a decent amount of work since Doug Pederson said he plans to play the first team unit through the second quarter and possibly into the third.
It’d be nice to see some better execution out of the Eagles this week after we’ve seen some sloppy football in the first two preseason games. With that said, Philadelphia will be without a number of key players in this game so it’s hard to set expectations too high.
The MOST important goal for tonight’s game is to keep everyone as healthy as possible. The Eagles will be playing their first regular season game in exactly two weeks from today against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday, September 6. That’s the night the Eagles will be raising their Super Bowl banner into the rafters at Lincoln Financial Field.
But before then, the Eagles still have two more preseason games to play. We’ll see the starters for the final time tonight before we watch the backup bowl between the Eagles and the New York Jets next week.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch tonight’s game.
