Mychal Kendricks doubles down on his take about the Eagles and Browns

Kendricks is trying to tweet through it.

NFL: Cleveland Browns-Training Camp Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier today, we pointed out how Mychal Kendricks said the Browns have “so much more talent in this room than what I did in Philly, it’s not even funny.”

Kendricks has since decided to double down on his take after seeing his comments make the rounds around the Internet. And when I say “Kendricks,” I mean tweets from his official account that look like they came from a publicist:

I suppose the second tweet is fair. The quote that caught so much attention came from a short clip released by HBO. I’d like to see the full context as well.

But the problem is that these tweets ultimately make what he originally had to say even worse. I was previously giving Kendricks the benefit of the doubt when he used the phrase “in this room.” I thought he was talking about comparing the linebackers on the Eagles and Browns. His new tweets indicate he’s talking about the entire teams!

Look, I’m not trying to criticize a player for believing in his squad. But Kendricks saying the Browns, who are 1-31 in their last 32 games, have “the capabilities to be an even better team” than the SUPER BOWL CHAMPION EAGLES is just not the most rational thing to say.

And if Kendricks doesn’t care about being rational, well, that’s his right. It’s also my right to share my opinion on his comments.
