Things weren’t exactly going that well to begin with but it appears Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was injured after a strip sack by the Patriots’ No. 94. Foles’ reaction was near immediate, but it appears to be just a shoulder strain.
Dave Spadaro says Nick Foles has shoulder strain. He’s staying on the field, doesn’t need to go back to the locker room. #Eagles

The QB went to a knee while holding his right arm, while New England’s defense scooped up the ball for a score.
Strip sack! Recovery!

Before he went down on Thursday, Foles was 3-of-9 for 44 yards, in a pretty unimpressive first quarter.
The Super Bowl MVP missed out on the first preseason game due to some neck area soreness, but now with whatever issue this may be, we can pretty much assume that we’re getting a healthy dose of Nate Sudfeld, Joe Callahan and Christian Hackenberg the rest of the preseason.
Sudfeld has a long way to go if he’s going to end up the team’s No. 2, so the Eagles need at least Wentz or Foles ready to go Week 1. Hopefully this is just a bump for Foles and he’s not out for long — although he’s definitely done for tonight.
