Jalen Ramsey is making a lot of headlines this morning. The Jacksonville Jaguars’ All-Pro cornerback recently did an interview with GQ where he trashed a number of NFL starting quarterbacks. Some examples:
Eli Manning - “I won’t say Eli’s good”
Josh Allen - “I think Allen is trash. I don’t care what nobody say. He’s trash. And it’s gonna show too. That’s a stupid draft pick to me. We play them this year, and I’m excited as hell.”
Joe Flacco - “Sucks”
Jared Goff - “Aaverage to above average”
Dak Prescott - “He’s good. He’s alright. He’s okay. I’ll put it that way. [Ezekiel Elliott] runs that team though. Everything runs around Zeke.”
Ben Roethlisberger - “Decent at best”
Matt Ryan - “Overrated”
One of the few quarterbacks who Ramsey thinks DOESN’T suck is the Philadelphia Eagles’ very own Carson Wentz. He actually had very high praise for the third-year passer.
Deshaun Watson, he’ll be the league MVP in a couple years. One hundred percent. There’s not even a debate about that. Him and Carson Wentz, for every year starting now until five to ten years, it’s gonna be them two. They’re that good.
Given how good Wentz and Watson looked in 2017, it’s not crazy to think Ramsey’s prediction could come true. We’ll get to see those two quarterbacks square off when the Texans visit Lincoln Financial Field in Week 16 this season.
As for Ramsey, Wentz will get a chance to face him head on when the Eagles play the Jaguars in London. That certainly has the makings of a good game.
Ramsey was also asked about another Eagles quarterback but didn’t get too much into his assessment of him.
Nick Foles?
“He won them a Super Bowl so he’s good enough to do that. He had a hella good team, too, though. But as long as you can do what the team asks you to do, then you’re straight.”
