Last year around this time, Carson Wentz invited a number of his Philadelphia Eagles teammates up to North Dakota in order to bond and get some passing reps in before training camp began in late July.
Wentz isn’t holding that camp this year as he’s still working his way back from his ACL injury. Instead, he’s spending time speaking to young athletes.
Wentz addressed a group of around 250, primarily comprised of high school football players from the Fargo-Moorhead area. His faith, football and his fiance were among the topics he discussed during his appearance, which included a question-and-answer session, through Sanford Health, one of his sponsors.
And casually throwing 70-yard passes to them. Without wearing his knee brace.
Check this one out! @cj_wentz hitting Wyatt Gunkel in stride for a 66 yard TD pass. (Traveled 70+ in the air into the endzone!) @Eagles @NDSUfootball “I’ll hit you on the D” #hecalledit pic.twitter.com/jG5g9lDxHT

Once again, I’m no doctor, but it seems pretty good that he’s able to do this.
Though not official, all signs continue to point towards Wentz being ready to play in Week 1. He’s been described as “shockingly ahead of schedule.”
Here’s hoping Wentz is truly ready to help the Super Bowl champions defend their title in 2018.
(Hat tip to r/Eagles.)
