Last November, LeBron James told reporters that Carson Wentz is his most favorite NFL player to watch. This summer, LeBron has a chance to join Wentz in Philadelphia.
There’s a legitimate chance the four-time NBA MVP will opt out of his contract and leave the Cleveland Cavaliers in free agency.
Wentz is sure hoping that’s the case. That’s part of why he (and Zach Ertz) went to see James play in Game 4 of the 2018 NBA Finals last Friday.

BGN RADIO’S JOHN BARCHARD: If, during the off time that you have, the Sixers ask you to be a part of their welcoming committe to get LeBron James here, would you do it?
WENTZ: Absolutely. Absolutely. I hope he’s coming. Ertz and I were there the other night. Unfortunately, he lost and everything. I didn’t really care who won that game. But just seeing that, seeing him live, we decided to make it a recruiting trip.
REPORTER: Did you guys get a chance to talk to him?
WENTZ: We did not. We did not. But hopefully he knows we were there.
Personally, I can’t wait to see James wearing a Wentz jersey when Joel Embiid and other Sixers playesr visit some Eagles games next year.
Speaking of Jojo ...
