Now that the 2018 NFL Draft is over, we have a better idea of what all the rosters will look like for the upcoming 2018 NFL season. As such, the odds-makers have decided it’s a good time to release some updated Super Bowl odds and win totals.
Super Bowl odds
When it comes to the Philadelphia Eagles, their odds have actually become slightly more favorable since the last time we took a look at them. Back in March, the Eagles had the second shortest odds at 17/2. Now they’ve improved to 8/1, according to Bovada.
The New England Patriots, who lost to the Eagles in Super Bowl LII, are still the top favorite at 5/1. The Los Angeles Rams rank third, just behind Philadelphia at 9/1. Then it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers at 10/1 before the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers tied at 12/1. Four of the top six teams are in the NFC.
The Eagles are still way out in front when you look at the rest of the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys dropped from 28/1 to 30/1. The New York Giants dropped from 50/1 to 75/1. The Washington Redskins rank last in the division after dropping from 66/1 to 80/1. Only six NFL teams have worse odds than Dan Snyder’s franchise.
Now, do these odds actually matter a ton when it comes to predicting team success? Well, if you consider that the Eagles were 50/1 at this point last offseason, not necessarily. Still, there’s good reason why the Eagles rank near the top. They’re the defending champs, after all, and they still have a lot of great pieces in place to make another run this season.
We already got a sneak preview of the 2018 Football Outsider projections on Thursday. While they didn’t include an exact number, they ultimately project the Eagles to finish 28th in the NFL Draft, which signifies they’re pegged for around 12 wins, give or take a game.
That projection lines up with the recent win totals released by the Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas. The Eagles’ over/under is set at 10.5 wins, which is tied with the Steelers. Only the Patriots rank high with 11 wins.
If I’m doing a conservative game-by-game breakdown of the Eagles’ 2018 schedule, I see them at 10 or 11 wins, which is where Vegas wants me to be. It’s a tough call. I’d lean towards the over because this team is still loaded but then again the NFL is such a year-to-year league.
Over or under 10.5 wins for the Eagles in 2018?

Bovada also released some Week 1 odds for the 2018 NFL season but the Eagles’ game against the Atlanta Falcons was taken off the board due to the uncertain status of Carson Wentz.
