The 2018 NFL Draft begins tonight and there is no shortage of rumors about what the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles might do. Here’s a look at the latest buzz going around the rumor mill. (Spoiler alert: No one actually knows what the Eagles are doing, besides possibly making a trade.)
Eagles “desperate” to trade out of pick No. 32
This one comes from Albert Breer of The MMQB.
32. Philadelphia Eagles - (RB, OG/C) One GM I spoke with Wednesday called Philly “desperate” to move out of 32, with an eye on getting Saturday picks. (Right now, they have none.) Corner is a possibility if Howie Roseman sticks, as is running back.
This is approximately the billionth time since Monday that we’ve heard the Eagles want to trade down. The only difference here, I suppose, is that an actual NFL general manager is saying it this time.
If the Eagles go with a corner at No. 32, it’s likely either Jaire Alexander, Donte Jackson, or Mike Hughes. Running back would likely be Derrius Guice or Sony Michel.
Note: Former Eagles and Ravens scout Daniel Jeremiah also says “I highly doubt the Eagles stay here [at No. 32]” in his final mock.
More love for Kolton Miller
Earlier this week, the Sporting News reported that Miller is in play at No. 32. The great Josh Norris had something similar to say in his final mock. Bold emphasis mine:
25. (TRADE) Cleveland Browns (via TEN) - T Kolton Miller, UCLA - A trade up from 33 (the Browns moved up to 29 last year for 33 and a 4th). Miller is the long-term solution at left tackle. He won’t get beyond the Eagles.
Miller isn’t a popular prospect due to his technical issues but the Eagles might feel like that’s something they could fix with good coaching. It ultimately sounds like he’s not expected to make it to the Eagles’ pick.
Wide receiver or tight end?
Matt Miller of B/R takes us in a totally different direction with what he’s hearing.
Philadelphia Eagles: Trading out of pick No. 32 overall makes the most sense for a team that doesn’t own another pick until No. 130. If they for some reason keep that pick, Maryland wide receiver D.J. Moore and South Dakota State tight end Dallas Goedert are the names scouts have most connected to Philadelphia.
I could see Moore being the pick, but he could also be gone before then. I also think Goedert could be gone. And I don’t think tight end in the first round makes the most sense for Philly.

I’ll update this thread with any other small rumors that I come across throughout the day. Check back for more updates.
