It appears the Philadelphia Eagles have a few tricks up their sleeves heading into the 2018 NFL Draft.
The wide expectation is that the Eagles will trade down from No. 32 overall in order to acquire more picks. That very well may happen. All the rumors indicate as much.
But here’s another interesting rumor from NFL Network’s Rich Eisen.

Hmmm. What could this possibly be? Especially if the Eagles don’t even make a pick at No. 32?
Maybe there will still be some sort of acknowledgement of Philadelphia’s Super Bowl win by announcing the world champions are on the clock. Or maybe the Eagles actually plan to make a pick at No. 32.
Either way, I’m intrigued.
Look, it’s going to be a long wait from when the NFL Draft officially starts at 8:00 PM ET until the Eagles get on the clock around 11:30 PM ET. Trading down would be a bummer from the perspective of a watching experience.
But, knowing that, maybe the Eagles plan to give their fans a little satisfaction by finding a way to rub their Super Bowl win in the face of Cowboys fans attending this year’s draft at the site of Dallas’s home field: AT&T Stadium.
Personally, I’m all for the Eagles being petty as hell about winning their first Lombardi Trophy. Why shouldn’t they be? Fans of every other team, and especially NFC East rivals, have been super petty to Eagles fans for FOREVER. It’s payback time.
Speaking of payback, another interesting thing to keep an eye on for Friday night.
I'm told that if David Akers does get to announce an Eagles second-round pick (which they don't have right now), it could go down as a sound bite for the ages. Stay tuned!!

I truly hope Akers makes me eat my words because I still don’t think he’s one of the best options for the job. But I’m ready to be proven wrong. (For the first time in my life).
So. What do you think the surprise is going to be? Any suggestions?
UPDATE: Boooooooo!
Sadly now hearing this surprise might be scrapped. Go back to your homes. Nothing to see here. https://t.co/Ux2LZPd9QP
