The 2018 NFL schedule leaks have begun!
We already have a few details on some Philadelphia Eagles games this season. Here’s a look:
Week 1 - vs. Atlanta Falcons (Sept. 6, 8:20 PM ET) NFL Kickoff Game [per Jeff McLane]
Week 2 - at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Sept. 16, 1:00 PM ET) [per Trevor Sikkema]
Week 6 - at New York Giants (Oct. 11, 8:20 PM ET) Thursday Night Football [per Manish Mehta]
Week 8 - at Jacksonville Jaguars (October 28, 9:30 AM ET, NFLN) London Game
Note that the Jags game is the only one that’s been officially finalized so far. The other leaks come from reputable sources, though, which is why I’m running them here on BGN.
A few quick thoughts:
- Interesting to see that Howard Eskin’s report about the Eagles playing the Vikings in Week 1 was wrong. I’d like to believe Howard was originally right but the NFL changed their mind because they realized it’d be too cruel to watch the Vikings have to watch the Eagles raise their Super Bowl banner. One less thing for those whiny Minnesota fans to complain about, I guess.
- Eagles versus Falcons provides a rematch of this year’s NFC divisional round playoff game in Philly. With all due respect to Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, hopefully Carson Wentz will be healthy enough to start this time.
- Week 2 has the potential to be a hot matchup. Not so much because of the teams. I’m talking about the weather.
- The Eagles will play on Thursday night twice in the first 36 days of the season. I’d imagine this means the Eagles won’t be playing on Thanksgiving. That’d be a lot of Thursday games.
Stay tuned to BGN for more schedule leaks!
