NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Offensive tackle, cornerback, and running back are the most popular Eagles picks - BGN
The 2018 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away! Mock draft season is in full gear and there’s no shortage of opinion about who the Philadelphia Eagles could select with the No. 32 overall pick. Let’s take a look at which players the experts have the Eagles taking this week.
O vs D - Iggles Blitz
It will be interesting to see what happens at pick 32. We all wonder who the team will choose. Beyond the specific player, it will be interesting to see which side of the ball the Eagles go with. The team will go with their draft board, which means taking the highest rated player available. But often there are a group of players with the same or similar grades. That is when position and need become factors. I wonder if the Eagles would lean toward taking an offensive player. My thinking is that the team may want to surround Carson Wentz with as much offensive talent as possible. The Eagles have a good defense. They have a potentially special offense.
Eagles 2018 NFL Draft preview: Defensive end - PhillyVoice
Ejiofor doesn’t have an explosive first step at the snap, but he does a great job winning with his hand fighting, and he possesses good instincts. He does not have any elite pass rush moves, like Derek Barnett’s dip and bend around the edge, but he has a well-rounded repertoire of moves. At Wake Forest, Ejiofor also played inside on obvious passing downs, like Graham and Bennett have done over their careers. He could be a player who the Eagles like as a long-term successor to Bennett. If Ejiofor were to slide to the fourth round due to athleticism concerns or because of his injury, I could see the Eagles having interest.
Big Week(s) Of Action For Eagles Ahead - PE.com
It all feels right, where the Eagles are right now and what they’ve accomplished in free agency. The team has been aggressive and creative and logical. They’ve addressed needs. They’ve eliminated any in-the-draft temptations to “reach” at a position ...
Ranking the OT prospects for the 2018 NFL Draft - PFF
4. Tyrell Crosby, Oregon. Crosby is arguably the most physical tackle in the entire class. He’s also another player who has done it on both the left and right side in the college ranks. Crosby’s not going to win any awards for his athleticism, and could ultimately end up at guard, but he’s an easy projection as a run-blocker.
The Best Value on Draft Day Is the Modern Linebacker - The Ringer
Front offices across the NFL have begun their search for the next Alvin Kamara. They’d be better served looking for the defenders who are perfectly built to stop him.
Mark Sanchez blames “unknowing supplement contamination” for PED suspension - PFT
Mark Sanchez has confirmed that he is suspended for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, but he denies knowingly using such substances. Sanchez released a statement saying he thinks a supplement he took was contaminated with a banned substance.
Harold Landry has the kind of pass rushing ability that’s impossible to ignore - SB Nation
Harold Landry is all about his speed rushes. I mean I wouldn’t exactly expect a guy who is 6’3 and 250 pounds to be using a lot of power rushes anyway. With Landry, however, he relied heavily on his ability to run around offensive tackles in the four games that I watched. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing since he was pretty damn good at it, but you usually can’t win that often with speed alone in the NFL. What I saw that I liked out of his speed rushes were excellent get-offs, good flexibility to duck under the tackle’s punch and lean into the turn, and a really good burst to finish at the quarterback.
