Eagles will reportedly host Daurice Fountain on pre-draft visit

More help at wide receiver?

NCAA Football: Northern Iowa at Iowa State Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

Northern Iowa wide receiver Daurice Fountain is one of the 30 prospects from the 2018 NFL Draft who will be hosted by the Eagles for a visit in Philadelphia, according to Connor Livesay from Pro Football Talk Line.

Fountain is a 6-1, 210 pound receiver who finished his four-year college career with 150 receptions for 2,077 yards (13.8 average) and 23 touchdowns.

Fountain reportedly stood out during East-West Shrine Game practices this year. It’s unfortunate he didn’t earn an invite to the NFL Combine.

All indications point to Fountain being a raw but talented receiving prospect who could make sense as a Day 3 pick. The Eagles could view him as a developmental guy in the mold of Marcus Johnson.

Scouting report via NFL.com:

Draft Projection: Round 5-6

Bottom Line: One-year wonder with the requisite height, weight, and speed numbers to interest teams looking for a plus athlete to develop. While Fountain should test well, his route running and ball skills aren’t where they need to be and the jump in competition will make that transition challenging. However, Fountain’s strong showing at the Shrine Game practices likely increased the number of teams who will target him on Day 3.
