Former Philadelphia Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount posted a goodbye message on his Instagram after officially signing with the Detroit Lions this weekend.
This past season will hold a very special place in my heart. It was one I will always remember. I would like to thank GM Howie Roseman, Owner Mr Lurie, Coach Pederson, the entire coaching staff and organization, My Teammates and my fellow RB’s for all the support, love and memories. To my main man Coach Duce Staley- You have impacted my life on and off the field and pushed me to be the best version of me I can be and for that I thank you! To All the Eagles fans I thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing me so much love and accepting me with open arms! We brought the 1st ever Super Bowl to Philly! I loved and enjoyed my time there! What an amazing feeling!
It’s sad to see Blount to go. He was fun to watch on the field and he was clearly a valuable influence in the locker room.
Unfortunately, it just wasn’t realistic for the Eagles to bring him back for what the Lions are paying him in 2018.
Best wishes to LG in Detroit. As is the case with every member of the 2017 Eagles, he’s a legend in Philadelphia forever.
