Leading up to this year’s NFL free agency period, some speculated the Arizona Cardinals would be interested in a Nick Foles trade. And it turns out those people weren’t wrong.
Good nugget from @MikeGarafolo -- Arizona Cardinals made a call to Philadelphia about Nick Foles. Obviously, didn't go far.

Right around the time the Cardinals were working on the Bradford deal, which sounds like it came together quickly. https://t.co/SMxDzwqYWd

Of course, the Cardinals weren’t actually interested enough to meet the Eagles’ asking price.
Instead of trading for this year’s Super Bowl MVP, Arizona decided to sign freaking Sam Bradford for $20 million. Just a laughably poor decision.
In fairness, at least they were smart enough to hedge their bet and sign another veteran quarterback. And that quarterback is ... Mike Glennon?! Last year’s free agent bust with the Chicago Bears.
What the hell are the Cardinals even doing? Like, this is really their best plan?
Cut one of the best players on the team in Tyrann Mathieu so that they can afford to pay two of the most uninspiring quarterback options out there?
Pathetic and embarrassing.
Maybe the Cardinals will eventually come to their senses later this offseason and realize that relying on Bradford and Glennon was a bad idea. Maybe Arizona realizes Bradford can’t stay healthy and Glennon isn’t good.
If that’s the case, maybe they’ll call the Eagles back with a little more desperation to get a deal done.
I wouldn’t count on it, but at least now we know the Cardinals do have some level of interest in Foles.
