So here’s some awesome news on the night before the Philadelphia Eagles play in Super Bowl LII: BRIAN DAWKINS IS GOING IN TO THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME.

At least, that’s what Mike Klis of 9News in Denver is reporting. The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class for 2018 won’t be officially announced until later tonight.

UPDATE: IT’S OFFICIAL!

Dawkins made it to the Hall in his second year of eligibility. Dawkins was wrongfully snubbed last season, when a freaking kicker (Morten Anderson) made it in over him.

Dawkins was obviously one of the best players to ever play the game. He was a monster on the field. He was also an incredible leader off it. He’ll always be remembered fondly in Philadelphia for giving his heart to this city.

Dawkins has often said that there’s going to be a big party if/when he gets into the Hall of Fame. The party will be even more epic if Eagles fans are also celebrating their first Super Bowl win in franchise history.

And Dawkins will be getting his first Super Bowl ring if the Eagles win the Lombardi trophy since the former safety is now a member of Philadelphia’s front office.

Today is a great day. Let’s hope tomorrow is even better.
