Keys to beating the Dallas Cowboys’ defense

The Kist & Solak Show #50!

NFL: New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

No team has eclipsed 30 points against the Dallas Cowboys defense this year. The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles have only scored over 30 points once this year. Odds that changes on Sunday? Well, if the Eagles are going to beat the odds, they’ll need to listen to the advice given on The Kist & Solak Show (of course)!

The Cowboys’ defensive coaching staff have done a commendable job getting their respective units to play at the level they have recently. Defensive coordinator and defensive line coach Rob Marinelli has done an excellent job developing top tier pass rusher Demarcus Lawrence and cross-training Tyrone Crawford who makes contributions from three and sometimes four different spots along the line.

Passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach Kris Richard has molded a young group of recently drafted players into an ascending unit that put the clamps on the New Orleans Saints vaunted passing attack. Linebackers coach Ben Bloom boasts one of the best groups in the league with Jaylon Smith, Leighton Vander Esch, Sean Lee. Even Damien Wilson, who they have successfully hidden in mostly run downs, has performed above expectations.

They’re a fast, aggressive defense that dare you to beat their man coverage. The Eagles will have to win their individual matchups against a tough group and avoid the red zone (hear us out), but there are ways to beat them.

We do our best to lay out what the Eagles need to do to be successful against the Cowboys’ defense in the newest Kist & Solak Show. Plus, we give our thoughts on Kamu Grugier-Hill bulletin board material and weigh in on the unfortunate and developing Alex Smith situation. Stream it on the media player below or click here if the player doesn’t load. FLY EAGLES FLY!
