Barring the unlikely event of a tie, there are two possible outcomes for tonight’s Philadelphia Eagles versus Washington Redskins matchup on Monday Night Football.
One such outcome involves the Eagles finding a way to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. That result keeps Philadelphia’s playoff hopes alive for at least one more week.
The other potential outcome is not unfamiliar to Eagles fans this season: disappointment. You can’t put it past Philadelphia to somehow lose to Colt McCoy at home on national television in soul-crushing fashion to end the Eagles’ post-season aspirations.
The feeling here is that the former scenario is more likely. McCoy is prone to turning the ball over and the Eagles should be able to score enough to outpace a Washington offense that’s struggled even more than Philadelphia has this year.
Carson Wentz had a HUGE game against Washington when these two teams faced off on Monday Night Football last year. He’s poised to step up once again.
I don’t think the Eagles will totally run away with this one since they’re struggled to dominate teams all season and Washington is still a quality group with a lot to play for. But I do think the Eagles will win to keep their season alive for at least six more days prior to their Week 14 game in Dallas.
