Eagles vs. Redskins Final Injury Report: Mike Wallace among five players ruled out

The Philadelphia Eagles released their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 17 game against the Washington Redskins.

FIVE Eagles players have been ruled out: Carson Wentz, Mike Wallace, Isaac Seumalo, Sidney Jones, and D.J. Alexander.

Wentz hasn’t played since Week 14 as he recovers from a back fracture. Nick Foles will start his third game in a row ... and possibly the last of his Eagles career? Nate Sudfeld will be Foles’ backup against the team that originally drafted him in 2016.

Wallace isn’t ready to return to the field despite being activated from injured reserve earlier this week. This means Wallace will finish the 2018 regular season with zero receptions. There’s hope that Wallace might be able to play in the playoffs if the Eagles manage to earn a wild card spot.

Seumalo will miss his third straight game despite being limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. He might be able to return next week ... if there is a next week on the Eagles’ schedule.

Jones is officially set to miss his 25th game since being drafted by the Eagles in 2017. Rasul Douglas and Avonte Maddox are the likely starters at outside cornerback with Cre’Von LeBlanc continuing to man the nickel role.

Alexander will miss his second game in a row. The special teams contributor was limited on Thursday but he did not practice at all on Friday. Hamstring must really be bothering him.

FOUR Eagles players have been ruled questionable: Jason Peters, Jason Kelce, Jordan Hicks, and Michael Bennett.

Earlier this week, Doug Pederson said he expects Peters to start. Peters was limited in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday. It remains to be seen how long Peters will last in Sunday’s game before Halapoulivaati Vaitai might have to come in.

Kelce was limited on Friday after not practicing on Thursday. Pederson said the Eagles were resting him. It seems like he’ll start at center on Sunday. If he can’t go, it could be Stefen Wisniewski starting at center with Chance Warmack at left guard.

Hicks curiously did not practice on Thursday after being full go on Wednesday. Pederson said the Eagles were resting him since the starting linebacker experienced some calf inflammation. Hicks was limited on Friday. He might be able to suit up. We’ll see.

Bennett was limited on Friday, which indicates he’ll play on Sunday. The Eagles have been giving him a lot of rest in the past month.

Fletcher Cox and Corey Graham aren’t listed on the final injury report. They were full participants on both Thursday and Friday.

WASHINGTON REDSKINS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)

Swing tackle Ty Nsekhe, who had been filling in at guard for Washington, is out for Sunday’s game.

Washington starting receiver Maurice Harris is also out. Harris ranks tied for third on the team in targets this season.

Vernon Davis, who didn’t practice Friday, is doubtful to play. With Jordan Reed being placed on injured reserve, Washington is set to be without their top two tight ends. That leaves Washington with just Jeremy Sprinkle (seven career catches) and Matt Flanagan (undrafted rookie with zero career catches) at the position. Yikes!

Starting defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis is questionable despite not practicing all week. Seems like there’s a solid chance he doesn’t play. Or he could be limited if he does suit up.

Josh Doctson missed practices on Thursday and Friday due to illness. Can’t imagine that’ll keep him out of action but we’ll see.
