The Dallas Cowboys are truly the gift that keeps on giving.
One might think that team owner Jerry Jones would be very angry and ready to make significant changes following the Cowboys’ embarrassing 28-14 home loss to the Titans on Monday Night Football.
But that’s not the case.
Jones is standing firm and saying Dallas head coach Jason Garrett won’t be losing his job (in-season, at least).
Jones is also extremely committed to underwhelming Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. So much so that he’s announcing plans for a long-term contract extension!
"Dak is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, he's young and he's gonna get extended." - Jerry Jones on @1053thefan.

Holy cow. The worst news of the year.
Just listen to the awkward silence here:

The Cowboys’ commitment to Prescott is great news for the Eagles. Dallas isn’t likely to contend with him because he’s not a quarterback who is going to push them over the top. Hoping to get the same performance out of him that they did back in 2016 is silly. The point of paying a franchise quarterback is because he helps elevate the team around him. Prescott only succeeds when everything is working in his favor and he’s not facing significant adversity. It’s almost like he lasted until the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft for a reason.
The reality is that Prescott hasn’t been good for some time now. Just look at the numbers:

The Cowboys are delusional to think Prescott is their long-term answer. Eagles fans should rejoice when Prescott signs a long-term extension with Dallas this offseason.
