The following seven players have been ruled OUT: Darren Sproles, Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones, Avonte Maddox, Jordan Hicks, Nate Sudfeld, and Matt Pryor.
The mild surprise here is that Rasul Douglas is ACTIVE after failing to practice all week. Derrick Gunn reports Douglas will not be starting, however, so it seems like he’ll only be playing on an emergency basis. Gunn also notes De’Vante Bausby and Chandon Sullivan will be starting on the outside today with Cre’Von LeBlanc likely lining up as nickel cornerback. Terrifying.
Sproles’ absence means the Eagles will be down to just Josh Adams, Corey Clement, and Wendell Smallwood. Adams figure to receive the most carries against New York since he’s been productive in recent weeks.
Hicks being out means the Eagles will move Nigel Bradham to middle linebacker. Kamu Grugier-Hill and Nathan Gerry will see snaps next to him.
Jordan Mailata is active for the third time this season. He’s yet to play a single snap (offense or special teams), though.
Backup safety Deiondre’ Hall is active for the first time since Week 8. Maybe he’ll actually get some playing time with so many other guys banged up? To this point, Hall has only played one defensive snap for Philly this season.
Pryor is the only player on the Eagles’ roster who’s been inactive for all 11 games so far. Only five more to go before he makes it a full season.
Timmy Jernigan is officially active for the first time all season after being officially activated to the 53-man roster earlier this week.
