The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 12 game against the New York Giants.
Six players did not practice on Wednesday: Jalen Mills, Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas, Avonte Maddox, Jordan Hicks, and Darren Sproles.
Doug Pederson made it sound like Jones is definitely out for Sunday’s game when he previously described him as “week-to-week.” The same goes for Hicks, who might be replaced by the combination of Kamu Grugier-Hill and Nathan Gerry.
By contrast, Pederson used “day-to-day” labels for Mills, Douglas, and Maddox. That seems to indicate they at least have a chance to play against the Giants. But with those players missing Wednesday’s practice, it’s possible Philadelphia will be without them. We’ll learn more about their outlook from Thursday’s injury report.
Assuming all four corners listed here miss the game, the Eagles will be forced to starting undrafted rookie free agent Chandon Sullivan and practice squad journeyman De’Vante Bausby on the outside with Cre’Von LeBlanc manning the slot. None of those three players were even on Philadelphia’s 53-man roster on October 24, which is less than a month ago.
It goes without saying the Eagles’ secondary is a major concern going up against Odell Beckham Jr. this week.
The reported timeline Sproles’ return is somewhere between Week 13 and Week 15. He’ll be out this week.
Long snapper Rick Lovato was limited in Wednesday’s practice. He must pass through the NFL’s mandatory concussion protocol before he can be cleared to play. Seems like he’ll be good to go considering he was doing some work today.
Jason Kelce was a full participant in practice after having to leave the Eagles’ loss against the Saints early with an elbow issue.
Timmy Jernigan — who was activated to the 53-man roster on Tuesday — wasn’t listed on the injury report at all, which is obviously a good sign. Pederson had the following to say about his potential role on Sunday:
“A good one. A big role. I don’t know. Listen, 100 percent of the game [joking]. I don’t know. We’ll see.”

The Giants only listed ONE player on their injury report: Kerry Wynn. He’s played the second most Giants defensive line snaps this year.
