As we transition away from a dreadful blowout loss and towards previewing a rivalry game, it’s always good to check in with the enemy to see things from their perspective. To help us do that, we here at BGN Radio were joined by Ed Valentine from our friends at Big Blue View to talk shop about our respective teams.
The New York Giants have strung together two consecutive wins (as part of their master plan or whatever) against the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and are starting to look like they’ve figured out who they want to be on offense. They’ve seen a huge uptick in play-action usage, which has resulted in better protection for Eli Manning and thus better results overall.
Against the Buccaneers, Manning has his highest single-game QB Rating (155.8) since 2009. He completed 17 of 18 passes for 231 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. On the flip side, on the season enemy quarterbacks are combined for an MVP worthy season against the Buccaneers.
We talk about the future with Manning and much much more on this special edition of BGN Radio, stream it on the media player at the bottom of the article or click here if the player doesn’t load.
As an aside, Brandon Lee Gowton (may he forever reign) has pointed out to me that this marks the 100th episode on the feed since the re-launch, which makes this episode even more special. We really do thank all of your support. The fact that we have reached 543 five-star reviews on Apple Podcasts and 214 written reviews in such a short time is incredible.
In celebration we’ll be reading our favorite reviews on Apple Podcasts in an upcoming episode, so make sure you get those in and get a shout out from us on the show.
Thank you again, so much! We all we got!
