NFC playoff picture and 2019 NFL Draft order following Week 11

Things aren’t going well.

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints The Daily Advertiser-USA TODAY N

The Philadelphia Eagles got demolished by the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, 48-7. Let’s take a look at what this second straight loss means for their standings in both the NFC playoff picture and the 2019 NFL Draft order.

NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE

PLAYOFF TEAMS

1 - New Orleans Saints: 9-1 overall, 6-1 conference
2 - Los Angeles Rams: 9-1 overall, 6-1 conference

5 - Carolina Panthers: 6-4 overall, 4-3 conference
6 - Minnesota Vikings: 5-4-1 overall, 4-3-1 conference

9 - Green Bay Packers: 4-5-1 overall, 2-4-1 conference
10 - Atlanta Falcons: 4-6 overall, 4-3 conference

15 - San Francisco 49ers: 2-8 overall, 1-6 conference
16 - Arizona Cardinals: 2-8 overall, 2-5 conference

ANALYSIS

The Eagles are “still alive” because the NFC East is stupid and bad. If Philadelphia can sweep their final four division games, including two against Washington, they’ll have a real chance to actually make the playoffs.

Of course, there should be little confidence that will happen since the Eagles stink right now. Are you confident the Eagles can even beat the Giants, who have won their last two games, in Week 12?

And even if the Eagles somehow do make the playoffs, what are they really going to do in the post-season against the NFC’s elites? If the Saints game is any indication — and it probably is — the Eagles’ realistic best case scenario is going one-and-done.

2019 NFL DRAFT ORDER

If you’ve given up hope on the Eagles making the playoffs, perhaps you’re interested in looking ahead to the 2019 NFL Draft. If that’s the case, here’s a look at the current first round order via Tankathon. Record tie-breakers are determined by strength of schedule.

1 - San Francisco 49ers: 2-8
2 - Arizona Cardinals: 2-8
3 - Oakland Raiders: 2-8
4 - New York Jets: 3-7
5 - New York Giants: 3-7
6 - Buffalo Bills: 3-7
7 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3-7
8 - Jacksonville Jaguars: 3-7
9 - Cleveland Browns: 3-6-1
10 - Detroit Lions: 4-6
11 - Atlanta Falcons: 4-6
12 - Philadelphia Eagles: 4-6
13 - Denver Broncos: 4-6
14 - Green Bay Packers: 4-5-1
15 - Indianapolis Colts: 5-5
16 - Miami Dolphins: 5-5
17 - Dallas Cowboys: 5-5
18 - Tennessee Titans: 5-5
19 - Seattle Seahawks: 5-5
20 - Cincinnati Bengals: 5-5

The Eagles have six games remaining this season: vs. Giants, vs. Washington, at Cowboys, at Rams, vs. Texans, and at Washington. Finishing with a top 10 pick isn’t out of the question.
