Eagles vs. Vikings Inactives: Corey Clement is ACTIVE

Who’s in and who’s out.

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their Week 5 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The following players have been ruled OUT: Darren Sproles, Derek Barnett, Haloti Ngata, Nate Sudfeld, Matt Pryor, Jordan Mailata, and Chance Warmack.

The big news is that Corey Clement IS active and WILL play. Clement was ruled questionable on the final injury report after failing to practice this week. It’s a little surprising to see he’s up, but it’s ultimately good news for the Eagles. Clement’s absence was really felt in pass protection last week when Wendell Smallwood was mightily struggling in that regard.

Barnett being out means the Eagles are down a starting defensive end. The Eagles rotate their pass rushers anyway, but he’s obviously been a key contributor this year. Brandon Graham, Chris Long, and Michael Bennett could be in line for more playing time today. There’s a good chance rookie defender Josh Sweat will log some defensive snaps for the first time this season.

Haloti Ngata is OUT after being ruled questionable on the final injury. The Eagles will start Fletcher Cox and Destiny Vaeao at defensive tackle. Treyvon Hester, who was promoted from the practice squad earlier this week, is active and will likely get playing time. Not ideal for the Eagles to be missing two defensive line starters today.

Chance Warmack continues to be a healthy scratch despite carrying a $2 million cap hit.

UPDATE: Derrick Gunn reports Isaac Seumalo will indeed start at left guard. Stefen Wisniewski to the bench.
