Let’s take stock of the NFC East heading into NFL Week 8 based on SB Nation’s latest FanPulse numbers.

Week 8 NFC East FanPulse Overview

Team Week 8 Confidence Week 7 Confidence Change Record
Team Week 8 Confidence Week 7 Confidence Change Record
Washington 76% 57% 19% 4-2
Eagles 38% 88% -50% 3-4
Cowboys 18% 31% -13% 3-4
Giants 8% 9% -1% 1-6

WASHINGTON REDSKINS

Washington leads the NFC East after seven weeks with a 4-2 overall record. Washington is also 1-0 in division games after eking out a close win over Dallas in Week 7.

It’s no surprise to see Washington has the best confidence rating at 76%. It’s also no surprise to see that 93% of their fans believe they will make the playoffs this season.

5-2 is easily within reach as Washington plays New York on Sunday. Washington fans expect their favorite team to win by an average of nine points.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Eagles experienced the biggest fan confidence drop in the league this week. The reigning Super Bowl champions dropped from 88% to just 38% after blowing a 17-0 lead over the Panthers in Week 7.

Despite this, Eagles fans are still relatively optimistic about this team’s playoff chances. FanPulse results show that 73% of Bleeding Green Nation readers still think Philadelphia will make a post-season push. Only 12 other fan bases are more confident in their team making the playoffs.

Eagles fans believe their favorite team will win by an average of four points against the Jaguars in London this Sunday. Jacksonville fans from Big Cat Country, meanwhile, expect the Jags to lose by an average of eight points. So if you think you’re feeling bad about the Eagles, you must realize Jags fans are feeling even worse. Blake Bortles has the power to do that to people.

DALLAS COWBOYS

The Cowboys suffered another drop in confidence rating following their loss to Washington. Dallas is down to just 18% now. Only 27% of Cowboys fans believe their favorite team will make the playoffs.

The Cowboys have off this week. It’s their bye.

NEW YORK GIANTS

The Giants’ confidence meter has flat-lined. G-Men fans know their 1-6 team stinks. Not EVERYONE has given up hope, though. Somehow 4% of Big Blue View’s voters still think the Giants will make the playoffs. Lol.

FanPulse results show Giants fans expected their team to lose to Washington by an average of four points. An upset would be great for the Eagles since it’d allow them to more easily get back in the NFC East race. Also the Giants winning games at this point clearly just ruins their draft positioning.
