Breaking down the Jaguars with a local analyst

The Kist & Solak Show #32

NFL: Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports

What better way to get to know your opponent than to talk with people that cover them? That’s what I did today by bringing on Locked On Jaguars host/writer Zach Goodall to talk about this Jacksonville Jaguars’ team and the challenges they’ll present to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both teams are fighting for relevancy after 3-4 starts and both teams can stay soundly in the hunt for their divisions in this London showdown. The Jaguars are in the midst of a three game slide and need this game and a better performance from their embattled and momentarily benched quarterback Blake Bortles to put the breaks on a disastrous stretch of their season.

The Jaguars have failed to reach double digit scoring outputs in three of their seven games this year, and Goodall breaks down what the Jaguars will look to do with their scheme and personnel to provide a boost.

On the defensive side of the ball, the numbers aren’t as kind to the Jaguars as they were last year but starting field position for their opponents has played a large factor in that. They rank 5th worst in opponent starting field position due to poor offensive play but have allowed only 15.6% of drives to end in touchdowns (2nd in the league).

We cover all that and more on this special edition of The Kist & Solak Show. Stream it on the media player below or click here if the player doesn’t load. Side note: we are only 4 five star ratings and 4 written reviews away from hitting the 500/200 mark on iTunes and we thank all of you so much for your support. FLY EAGLES FLY!
