FINAL SCORE
The Eagles came up big in a must-win game to defeat the Giants, 34-13.
Philadelphia is now 3-3 on the 2018 season. First in the NFC East!
New York is now 1-5. Stick a fork in them.
FOURTH QUARTER
Giants 13th drive: Giants get some garbage time yardage before the clock runs out. Game.
Eagles 12th drive: WR screen to Jeffery on 3rd-and-7 goes for a first. Good job by Alshon to juke some dudes. Giants take their second timeout. Eagles get another first as the Giants burn their final timeout. Loud E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES! chants breaking out at MetLife Stadium. Eagles get to 4th-and-8 after Smallwood is tackled out of bounds with 1:53 left.
Giants 12th drive: Giants drive down the field with a hurry-up offense. Cox sacks Manning. Then he blows up a screen play. What a beast. Giants convert on 3rd-and-16 via a checkdown to Wayne Gallman. Jalen Mills is hurt. Giants get to 3rd-and-4 from the 5-yard line. Manning is pressured into an incompletion. Giants go for it, because duh. Manning’s fade pass to OBJ is broken up by Mills (who is back). No flag. Turnover on downs.
Eagles 11th drive: Carter muffs the punt on a fair catch but recovers with no one around him. Thankfully the Giants just jogged past him. Looks like the Eagles are resting Johnson for the rest of the game now with Seumalo taking over at right tackle. Good call. Eagles go three-and-out after playing it conservative. Punt.
Giants 11th drive: Bradham sacks Manning on 3rd-and-10 to bring up 4th-and-17. Giants punt.
Eagles 10th drive (continued): Lane Johnson comes back in but the refs make him stay out for a play due to rule. Wentz’s third down pass for Ertz is broken up. Elliott’s 30-yard field goal is good. Eagles take a 21-point lead with 14:52 to play. Eagles lead, 34-13.
THIRD QUARTER
Eagles 10th drive: Jason Peters ruled out for the rest of the game with a biceps injury. Smallwood runs and fumbles. It’s called the Giants’ ball. But the replay clearly shows Smallwood recovering and the ruling is reversed. Still Eagles’ ball. Dodged a bullet there. Wentz hits JMatt for a first down. Vaitai allows Wentz to be sacked from behind to bring up 3rd-and-14. No matter, Wentz hits JMatt for another first down. Giants linebacker Alec Ogletree gets called for unnecessary roughness after hitting Agholor late on the ground. Eagles move to the Giants’ 32-yard line. Wentz to Ertz for another first down, Eagles now in the red zone. Lane Johnson is hurt. Stefen Wisniewski in to play left guard with Isaac Seumalo shifting out to right tackle.
Giants 10th drive: Giants convert a 3rd-and-5 thanks to a one-handed catch from Beckham. Malcolm Jenkins misses the tackle. Then Barkley runs for a touchdown. Bad job by Nigel Bradham and Rasul Douglas there to allow Barkley to just run right by them. Eagles lead, 31-13.
Eagles 9th drive: Wentz to Jeffery on play-action for a first down. Peters has to come out after getting banged up, Halapoulivaati Vaitai is in at left tackle. Wentz hits Ertz over the middle on 3rd-and-6. Landon Collins signals for the incompletion and the Eagles go hurry-up to get a play off so the Giants can’t challenge. Looked complete anyway. Wentz takes off running on 2nd-and-8 and dives for a first. Wentz throws back to Clement on a screen to get the Eagles to the Giants’ 20-yard line. Red zone territory. Smallwood runs for a first on 2nd-and-5. Philly has 1st-and-goal from the 9-yard line. Wentz hits Jeffery to bring up 3rd-and-goal from the 1-yard line. Wentz hits Jeffery again for a touchdown on a wide receiver screen. Easy money. Eagles lead, 31-6.
SECOND QUARTER
Giants 9th drive: Giants throw a screen to Shepard to bring up the end of the first half. Nice of Odell Beckham Jr. to walk off the field with two seconds remaining. Quitter.
Eagles 8th drive: Philly takes over at their own 42-yard line with 23 seconds and two timeouts remaining. Wentz throws to Jeffery and it’s incomplete but Jenkins is called for pass interference. It’s not picked up this time. Eagles now at the Giants’ 42-yard line. Wentz completes a pass to Jeffery on an RPO for a first down. Pederson calls the second timeout with 12 seconds on the clock and the ball on the Giants’ 31-yard line. Jordan Matthews is called for a false start. Smh. Eagles bring on Elliott for a 54-yard try and the kick is wide right.
Giants 8th drive: Manning takes a deep shot to Cody Latimer, who beats Jalen Mills for a completion. Womp. The Giants go right back at Mills two more times but Manning’s passes are incomplete. Giants attempt a 52-yard field goal but the kick is short. No good.
Eagles 7th drive: Carter with another nice return allows the Eagles to start at the 50-yard line. Wentz goes deep for Jordan Matthews and pass interference is called on Jenkins. But then it’s picked up despite the fact JMatt got hit early. OK. Eagles get a first down anyway due to Wentz drawing a roughing the passer penalty. Eagles get to 3rd-and-2 and Smallwood gets tackled for no gain. Doug Pederson has the Eagles go for it ... nope. Just tries to draw the defense offside. (That never works.) Eagles settle for a 33-yard field goal attempt and Jake Elliott makes it. I’m fine with that call. Three possession game. Eagles lead, 24-6.
Giants 7th drive: Darby breaks up a pass to OBJ and Douglas almost picks it. Treyvon Hester (!) tackles Barkley for no gain. Then Destiny Vaeao (what?!) sacks Manning. Everyone came to play tonight! Giants have to punt.
Eagles 6th drive: Ertz catches a short pass and then laterals to Jeffery to set up 3rd-and-3. Wentz finds Agholor deep on a broken play for a huge gain to put the Eagles in goal-to-go territory. Then Wentz hits Ertz wide open for an Eagles touchdown. TOO EASY. Ertz did a great job of shaking free from Janoris Jenkins on his route there. Eagles lead, 21-6.

Giants 6th drive: Giants take over after OBJ recovers his own muffed punt. Lucky. Barkley breaks off a huge gain on a screen play. Just so hard to tackle. Manning throws two bad passes after a false start to bring up 3rd-and-15. Manning checks down to Barkley and the Eagles get the stop. But then Bennett is called for a bullshit roughing the passer for the second week in a row. Ridiculous. Chris Long and Bennett pressure Manning on 3rd-and-goal and Darby breaks it up. Giants settle for another short field goal. Eagles lead, 14-6.
Eagles 5th drive: Jeffery drops a pass to bring up 3rd-and-4. Eli Apple also got a hand in there to help break it up. Wentz hits Ertz and the tight end can’t get beyond the marker. No YAC Zach.
Giants 5th drive: Sidney Jones gets ruled out for the rest of the game with a hamstring injury. Uh, that’s not great! Barkley jukes a billion defenders on a 9-yard run. He’s certainly not easy to tackle. Shepard gets called for blocking in the back on Malcolm Jenkins (dirty cheap shot). Darby immediately tackles Beckham Jr. on a quick horizontal throw. Giants get to 3rd-and-16 and Barnett tackles Barkley from behind to force a punt. By the way, Rasul Douglas is now playing safety with Avonte Maddox lining up in the nickel.
Eagles 4th drive (continued): Wentz drops the ball in the backfield and barely gets a throw off to Smallwood for no gain to bring up fourth down. Old friend Connor Barwin had a chance to pick that one off. Wentz got lucky there.
FIRST QUARTER
Eagles 4th drive: Smallwood runs for four yards to bring up the end of the first quarter. Real good start, Eagles, and I’m finally not writing that in a sarcastic tone.
Giants 4th drive: Fletcher Cox tackles Barkley for no gain. Bennett jumps offside. Derek Barnett beats his man off the edge and almost gets to Manning but the throw is off to OBJ and Ronald Darby knocks it down. Nice. Manning’s third down pass for Shepard is floated too far out in front and it’s incomplete. Another three-and-out for Pat Shurmur’s team. Good job, defense.
Eagles 3rd drive: DeAndre Carter breaks a couple tackles on a 23-yard punt return. Real nice job by him. Eagles start out at the Giants’ 44-yard line as a result. Wentz hits Jeffery on a screen. Then on an RPO for a first down. Love seeing the Eagles make an effort to get he ball to Alshon. Smallwood runs for an 8-yard gain. Corey Clement comes in an takes the ball 14 yards to the 1-yard. Great blocking on that play. Wentz throws to Clement but it goes for no gain. Wentz hesitated. Eagles go back to Clement for a run up the guy and it’s a TOUCHDOWN! Eagles lead, 14-3.
Oh my darling, Clement time... #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/OxL3d69iBl

Giants 3rd drive: Giants take over at the 9-yard line after Cameron Johnston’s punt. Michael Bennett strip-sacks Manning from behind but the Giants recover at the 1-yard line. Man, that easily could’ve been an Eagles touchdown. Barkley runs forward to bring up 3rd-and-15. Odell Beckham Jr. picks up 12 yards. Almost made it there but Giants have to punt.
Eagles 2nd drive: Wentz to Dallas Goedert for six yards. Then Smallwood is tackled for a loss. Wentz’s arm gets hit by Kareem Martin as he throws but Nelson Agholor manages to come back to the ball and catch it. PHEW. That easily could’ve been picked by the Giants. Jason Peters gets called for holding to bring up 2nd-and-20. Then Peters gets bullrushed by Olivier Vernon and allows Wentz to get hit as he throws. Martin hits Wentz’s arm again and it’s an incomplete pass. Boy, pass protection not looking good! Wentz checks down to DeAndre Carter on 3rd-and-20 for a 10-yard gain. Punt.
We'll take it.#FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/2HTVxxQnhM

Giants 2nd drive: Saquon Barkley breaks off a 44-yard run thanks to Jalen Mills whiffing. Ugh. Credit to Avonte Maddox for chasing him down. Giants move into the red zone. On 3rd-and-7, Eli Manning’s pass for Sterling Shepard in the end zone is incomplete. Shepard and Sidney Jones got their feet tangled up to cause both players to trip. Good no-call from the refs there. Giants settle for the field goal and Aldrick Rosas makes it. Eagles lead, 7-3.
Eagles 1st drive: Eagles start at the Giants’ 16-yard line. Carson Wentz’s first pass to Zach Ertz is wide and incomplete. Wendell Smallwood runs for three yards to set up 3rd-and-7. Wentz scrambles out to his right and fires a pass back across his body to Alshon Jeffery for an EAGLES TOUCHDOWN! Wentz is so good. Now THAT’S how you start a game. Eagles lead, 7-0.

Giants 1st drive: The Giants fumble on their opening kickoff return but it’s reviewed and overturned. Still New York ball. Almost a huge play there for the Eagles to start the game. Jordan Hicks deflects Eli Manning’s second pass and Kamu Grugier-Hill picks it off! Great start!
KGH’s INT set up Wentz’s TD.

Coin toss: Eagles win the toss, elect to defer. Giants set to receive first.

GAME INFORMATION
Week 6 of the 2018 NFL season schedule kicks off tonight with a big NFC East matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) and the New York Giants (1-4).
It goes without saying that both teams really need to win this game. The reigning Super Bowl champions are looking to avoid their third loss in a row. The Giants are trying to keep their season alive by not falling to 1-5. This should be a hard-fought battle between two very desperate sides.
The Eagles went 2-0 against the Giants in 2017 but the games were way too close for comfort. Philadelphia needed a miraculous 61-yard field goal from Jake Elliott as regulation expired to beat New York in Week 3. Then the Eagles had to come back from a 20-7 deficit in their second matchup against the G-Men. For as bad as the Giants were in 2017, they found a way to have their best games against the Eagles.
In order to prevent the Giants from replicating last year’s offensive success, it’s imperative that the Eagles find a way to get to Eli Manning. This shouldn’t be an impossible ask considering Philadelphia’s pass rush is a mismatch for the Giants’ offensive line on paper.
Offensively, the Eagles need a huge night from Carson Wentz. This is a spot where the team’s franchise quarterback needs to deliver. There should be opportunities to score against a New York team that’s allowing 25.6 points per game, which ranks 19th in the league.
Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch tonight’s matchup.
