Doug Pederson is calling on an old friend to be a guest speaker for the Philadelphia Eagles’ final team meeting on the night before Super Bowl Sunday.
That speaker is his former Green Bay Packers teammate: Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre.
Brett Favre will speak to the @Eagles Saturday night at the #SuperBowl as a guest of Doug Pederson. The two were teammates for 7 years on the Packers.

Pretty cool that Favre was willing to help his old buddy out. Peter King detailed the relationship between Favre and Pederson in The MMQB earlier this week. Ed Werder also shared this tidbit:
Favre and Pederson talked on phone before Minny game. Favre said if #Eagles won, he would have to come tell them about Pederson wearing a singing bass shirt before GB playoff game. They shared laugh at the memory and Pederson then requested Favre talk to his team night before SB.

Can’t hurt for the Eagles to hear from (another) Super Bowl winning quarterback on the night before playing in the big game themselves.
The last time the Eagles had a very notable athlete speak prior to a big game, it was Kobe Bryant talking to the team prior to the Eagles’ tilt against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 14. As you’ll recall, Philadelphia won that matchup.
Maybe Favre’s pep talk will help mentally prepare the Eagles for their biggest win in franchise history.
