The Philadelphia Eagles held their first official practice ahead of their Super Bowl LII game against the New England Patriots. As mandated by the NFL, the team released injury report on Thursday.

The interesting news is that Eagles lead back Jay Ajayi was a limited participant due to an ankle injury. Ajayi was listed as a full participant on the Eagles’ estimated Wednesday injury report. There’s still plenty of time before the big game kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 4, so it’s too early to panic. For now, Ajayi’s status is something to keep an eye on.

Veteran linebacker Dannell Ellerbe was a full participant in practice for the first time since the Friday before Philadelphia’s Divisional Round game against the Falcons. Ellerbe missed the NFC Championship Game but it looks like he should be ready to play in the Super Bowl, if the Eagles decide to activate him.

Primary punt returner and reserve running back Kenjon Barner did not practice due to illness. Nelson Agholor returned punts in practice due to Barner’s absence.

The Eagles will hold practice the next two days before leaving for Minneapolis on Sunday. The team is expected to land in Minnesota around 3:30 PM ET.
