As the “road team” in Super Bowl LII, the Philadelphia Eagles do not get to pick which uniforms they’ll wear in the big game. The New England Patriots get to pick instead, and it may surprise you that they’ve opted not to wear their home jerseys.
Or maybe it’s not surprising at all given this stat:
Patriots will wear their road white jerseys in Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles, per @MikeReiss. The team wearing white jerseys has won the Super Bowl in 12 of the previous 13 seasons, per @EpKap.

One of those 13 games includes the time the Patriots beat the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX.
You might think the Eagles are screwed now, but apparently the Patriots didn’t account for the fact that Philadelphia is essentially UNDEFEATED in their standard home uniform this season.
Note that I said “essentially” since the Eagles lost to the Cowboys in Week 17 wearing those jerseys, but come on, the starters only played one quarter since it was a meaningless game. And the Eagles still only lost to Dallas by a score of 6 to 0 anyway.
The Eagles are 10-0 wearing midnight green jerseys and white pants in games that they’ve actually tried to win. They’re 2-0 in such playoff games.

Two of New England’s three losses in 2017 came while they were wearing their dark blue home uniforms. But the other one did come while wearing white against the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. PLUS the Patriots actually lost one Super Bowl game while wearing white.
Now, does any of this actually matter? No, of course not.
(But yes, it does.)
