The Philadelphia Eagles are set to play in the NFC Championship Game tomorrow without the starting quarterback who had a large role in helping the team get to this point. That’s the unfortunate news.
The good new is that guy seems to be doing very well in his recovery from a torn ACL. NFL insider Mike Garafolo gave an update on Carson Wentz’s status last weekend.
By the way, Eagles fans, this is going to be of little consolation today but in the long run, it’ll be a good bit of news.
Carson Wentz is doing great early on in his recovery. I talked to a couple of guys about that. Matter of fact, Chris Maragos, who is coming back from his own issue, special teams guy, he saw [Wentz] in the weight room last week. Like ‘hey, maybe you should take it [easy].”
[Wentz was like]: ‘Ah no, I’m feeling great. I’m feeling great.’
So he’s really pushing it early on his return. They’re confident he’s going to be back well ahead of Week 1.”
It’s only been one month and 10 days since Wentz tore his ACL in the Eagles-Rams game, so there’s still a long road ahead of the 25-year-old MVP candidate. But for now, this is encouraging news to hear.
In the meantime, Wentz is helping fill-in starter Nick Foles prepare for the Eagles’ playoff games.

It’s nothing short of impressive how the Eagles have made it this far without Wentz starting.
And they’re not done yet.
