Minnesota news station FOX 9 ran a feature this week about Vikings fans traveling to Philadelphia for the NFC Championship Game. The news segment included a “warning” about Eagles fans.

Watch for yourself below.

A few standout quotes from that clip include:

“I would advise you to not be over-inebriated, because [Eagles fans] will be.”

“If the Vikings win, yes, I would take off any sort of like, colors. I know it sounds ridiculous, like we’re almost talking about gangs here, but it’s no joke down in Philly. It really isn’t.”

Now that I’ve placed my eyes back into their sockets after they fell out from rolling so hard, I just wanted to say ... get a grip, Minnesota.

Enough with trying to make Philly fans look bad because they really care about their team.

What do you want Eagles fans to do? Welcome opposing fans with open arms? That’s not realistic. Eagles fans should want to discourage other fans from coming to Lincoln Financial Field. They’re just doing their best to maintain a home field advantage.

My mindset has always been that you’re playing with fire if you wear opposing gear in any stadium in any sport. Just don’t do it.

The Linc is indeed going to be a hostile environment on Sunday for the Vikings and their fans. That doesn’t make Philly fans bad, as long as they’re not crossing the obvious line of harming others. It’s just the point of home field advantage.
