Ranking NFL teams by age after 53-man cutdowns: 2017 edition - PhillyVoice
By the time you read this, this data will already out of date as teams continue to make tweaks to their rosters, although even with continued roster movement, the average ages of each team shouldn’t change much. Here are the results, with a recent historic look at the average ages of each team on 53-man cut down day.

LeGarrette Blount had a strong year with the Patriots 2016 but didn’t look so great in the preseason. Wendell Smallwood has talent. It remains to be seen if he’s a full-time guy, though, and it’s hard to ignore his injury issues. Corey Clement is just a guy. He ran hard this summer, but he’s not much more than a third or fourth string running back. Donnel Pumphrey was simply not one of the best 53 players on the Eagles’ roster. He doesn’t look ready to contribute in the NFL right now.

Development Key In Fluid Roster Picture - PE.com
What’s interesting about this roster is the Eagles’ decisions to keep some players who didn’t produce much in the preseason, notably Pumphrey and Gibson, players whom the team wants to develop, players whom Roseman referred to as “a work in progress.” The Eagles don’t want to give up on Pumphrey. He will use the season to get stronger and faster. Gibson has unique speed and the Eagles want to build his pass-catching confidence and improve his route-running and technique.

More on the Roster - Iggles Blitz
As for Billy Brown, I don’t know what happened there. He showed more than enough on the field to make the roster. This could have been a numbers crunch or it is possible there is another factor. Was he doing everything he needed off the field? Were there missed assignments and mental errors in the games? If he ran the wrong route, it would be hard for most people to know that. If the Eagles don’t bring him back (and he’s not claimed), that will tell you there was some issue we just don’t know about.

Eagles 53-man roster analysis: Roseman chooses potential over performance with Gibson - ESPN
Gibson had a bad case of the drops earlier in the summer before turning things around some. Bryce Treggs outperformed him overall and earned a roster spot based on merit. Executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman remains intrigued by Gibson's speed and deep-ball ability, though, traits that convinced the front office to take him in the fifth round.

Eagles’ Malcolm Jenkins pushing Pa. bill to help seal criminal records - NewsWorks
On Friday night, during a private event supporting a local nonprofit at an upscale Center City restaurant, he threw his support behind Pennsylvania's "Clean Slate Act." The first-of-its-kind legislation would automatically seal non-violent misdemeanor convictions after 10 years for those who haven't committed another crime since. Those records would still be available to law enforcement, but invisible to employers and landlords who may be wary of hiring or renting to someone with a record. "I don't think this is the solution to everything, but I think it's a step in the right way," Jenkins said.

Howie Roseman: 'We think we have eight starters on the offensive line' - Daily News
Fast forward to Saturday. When the Eagles finished reducing their roster to the league-mandated 53 players, the list included just eight offensive linemen, which was a bit of a surprise. “It’s certainly different than we’ve done in the past,’’ executive vice-president of football operations Howie Roseman said. “We like offensive linemen. But we feel really good about our eight. “We felt there were a lot of young players that we had. There’s still the potential to bring some of them back (on the 10-man practice squad). We’ll try to balance that with our grading of those guys.’’

Howie Roseman preaches patience after Donnel Pumphrey makes Eagles' 53-man roster - CSN Philly
After Donnel Pumphrey's dismal showing in four preseason games, there were plenty of people ready to give up on him. Howie Roseman wasn't one of those people. Roseman traded up to take Pumphrey in the fourth round this spring and a bad month of games wasn't going to be enough to throw in the towel. So despite a paltry 1.9 yards-per-attempt average on 26 carries in this preseason, Pumphrey made the Eagles' initial 53-man roster on Saturday. Many fans called for local product Corey Clement to make the team over Pumphrey. That didn't happen. Instead, both made the roster. Roseman on Saturday afternoon preached patience with Pumphrey

Learn how to watch an NFL game like an expert - SB Nation
I often get asked what I watch for on Sundays when I'm sitting in front of the TV. That answer is complex and based on the matchups. However, I've compiled a list of little nuggets you can watch for to enhance your NFL watching experience. Unfortunately, some of these depend on the camera angles, but when you watch the All-22 film, which I know most do, these will help you understand what's going on. So without further ado, here are five things to watch during NFL games.
