Philadelphia Eagles rookie kicker Jake Elliott has been nominated for two different awards this week due to his 61-yard game-winning field goal against the New York Giants. You can vote for Elliott to win.
One of the honors Elliott can receive is the “Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week” award. Other nominees include: Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey.
The other honor Elliott can win is the “Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of Week 3” award. Other nominees include: Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff, New England Patriots wide receiver Brandin Cooks, and Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard.
I think Elliott has a better chance at the Clutch award than the rookie one. What was more clutch than a friggin 61-yard field goal by a rookie to beat a division rival? Go vote for Elliott by clicking on the links above.
It’s also possible Elliott wins NFC Special Teams Player of the Week, which isn’t publicly voted on, this week. We’ll see an announcement on that tomorrow (9/27).
Elliott’s MVP bid won’t be revealed until after the season is over.
